Editorial policy

Who writes the articles

Articles are written by the DrillCase editorial team. When a named author or an outside reviewer, such as a former consultant, works on an article, we show their name and their relevant experience on that article. We never invent authors, reviewers, credentials or testimonials.

How we verify facts

We treat three kinds of claims differently:

Format facts about a firm's test

Game names, section names, timings, question types and scoring. We check these first against the firm's own careers pages and the test vendor's documentation. Candidate reports on forums and in our own practice data come second. Where sources disagree, or where the format differs by office or invitation, the article says so rather than picking one.

Estimates

Pass rates, cut-off scores and similar figures are not published by the firms. When we quote an estimate, we name who made it and link to the source. We do not present estimates as facts.

Numbers about DrillCase

Counts of practice cases and questions, and prices, come from our product database and are re-counted when they change. We round down, so "250+ questions" always means at least 250. We do not publish user counts, success rates or ratings that we cannot show.

What "Last verified" means

Each article shows three dates. Published is when it first went live. Updated is the last time its content changed. Last verified is the last date someone checked its format facts against the cited sources, even if nothing needed to change.

An article marked Review pending has not yet been checked against sources under this policy. Most of these were published before the policy existed, and we are working through them.

Sources

Articles list their sources at the end, starting with official firm and vendor pages. We do not use screenshots of a firm's real test. Practice questions shown in articles are written by DrillCase and are labelled that way.

How we use AI tools

We use AI tools to help with research, outlines and first drafts. A person on the team edits every article, checks its facts against the sources, and approves it before it is published. AI tools do not publish anything on their own, and we do not use them to invent quotes, data or experiences.

Independence

DrillCase sells practice material for these tests, and our articles link to it. We are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group or Bain & Company. When an article compares us with other prep providers, it explains how the comparison was made.

Corrections

If you spot an error, or your test differed from what we describe, email support@drillcase.com with the article link. We review every report. When we correct a factual error, we change the article, update its Updated date and, for significant changes, add a note in the article saying what changed.
