Day 1: Ecotopia, a full Redrock study. 35 minutes on the clock, free.
02 · Why length matters
A 65-minute invitation is reportedly Redrock and Sea Wolf. 85 adds the Sustainable Futures Lab. Each game has its own clock, and time saved in one doesn't carry to the next.

03 · How it runs
One email a day at 7:00 your time, until your test (weekly while your test is more than two weeks away). Up to three of them are about Solve VIP, our paid practice, and the first one mentions it in a P.S.; the rest are practice only. Two days after your test, one email asks how it went. Then it stops.

Test facts on this page: reported by candidates, sources checked 23 Sep 2026. McKinsey's own line: “The length of your Solve assessment is outlined in your invitation email.”
No. McKinsey publishes the length in your invitation and an FAQ. Which games each length holds is what candidates report, compiled from prep sites. We label which is which and date every source. DrillCase is independent and not affiliated with McKinsey.
Yes. The Decoder, the plan emails and the Ecotopia Redrock study are free. DrillCase also sells Solve practice; up to three of the plan emails are about it, and the first mentions it in a P.S.
Tick “I don't have an invitation yet”. You'll get a weekly foundations plan, and we'll ask for your date when you have one.
Your invitation wins. Reply to any of our emails with what it says and we'll check and date the change.
Two days later, one email asks how it went. Then the plan stops.
Yes. Every email has a “Change test date” link, and the plan re-times from the next day.
There are early reports of 95-minute invitations. Some describe a rebuilt, 30-minute Lab; two coaches read it as the 85-minute test plus a buffer. Treat it as unconfirmed and prepare for the longer Lab.
Your test date is the only deadline on this page.
