Sova or TestGorilla? Your Bain invitation already says
Pick the platform in your invitation to see its rules: the clock, the sittings, whether you can go back. Add your deadline and we'll email a plan with one short timed task a day until then. It stops the day your test is done.
Pick the platform. See its rules. Get a plan to your deadline.
Your invitation names it.
Your invitation names it: Where, Bain emails you “whether you are required to complete Sova or Test Gorilla” (bain says); Seoul AC, TestGorilla (bain says); London AC, Sova (bain says); Elsewhere, Office maps online are candidate reports, and they shift between cycles (reported); Both, About 30 to 40 minutes, pen, paper and a calculator allowed (bain says). What we don't cover: abstract-pattern (inductive) items, the personality questionnaire and video questions. Sova's candidate hub has free examples of those.
Why the platform matters
The two pace differently. TestGorilla is one timed sitting and you can't go back. Sova can be split across sittings and shows no countdown per question, though candidates report your speed is tracked.

How it runs
One email a day at 7:00 your time, until your test (weekly while your test is more than two weeks away). Up to three of them are about DrillCase's paid Bain practice, and up to two others (the first, and the one about your invitation) mention it in a P.S.; the rest are practice only. Two days after your test, one email asks how it went. Then the daily plan stops.
Before you send it
Test facts on this page: Bain's digital-assessment FAQ, Seoul FAQ and London page, TestGorilla's candidate FAQ, plus candidate reports, sources checked 23 Sep 2026. Bain's own line: you will receive an email “detailing whether you are required to complete Sova or Test Gorilla.”
Partly. Bain publishes a digital-assessment FAQ, a Seoul recruiting FAQ and a London page, and TestGorilla publishes a candidate FAQ. The Sova timer and the extra Sova sections are what candidates report, compiled from prep sites. We label which is which and date every source. DrillCase is independent and not affiliated with Bain, Sova or TestGorilla.
Yes. The Platform Check, the plan emails, the verbal set and the math drills are free. DrillCase also sells Bain practice; up to three of the plan emails are about it, and up to two others (the first, and the one about your invitation) mention it in a P.S.
Abstract-pattern (inductive) items, the personality questionnaire and video questions; Sova's candidate hub has free examples of those. Our Bain sets are built for Sova-style sections. The numerical, data and case sets also train the skills behind TestGorilla's business-framed items, but they aren't a copy of TestGorilla's tests.
Tick “I don't have an invitation yet”. You'll get a weekly foundations plan that works for either platform, and we'll ask for your date when you have one. Bain says that in some markets the personal link arrives within a week of applying.
Your invitation wins. Reply to any of our emails with what it says and we'll check and date the change.
Yes. Every email has a “Change test date” link, and the plan re-times from the next day.
Two days later, one email asks how it went. Then the daily plan stops. Bain says you can expect to hear back within 60 days.
Your deadline is the only deadline on this page.
